Environmental Debauchery

The purity of a place is in the simplicity of comfort
It is sanctity that makes nature a marvel
Any impurity as a result distorts the integrity
Hence adulteration of any kind is a curse
Wait, isn’t impurity what maketh nature
Flora and Fauna thrive in impure environments
Likewise humans as we adapt to nature’s effects
We set standards that seldom are enforced
Penalties that are weak in execution and vindictive
Still we have the audacity to follow others blindly
Especially when we think they act cooler than us
Are we sane or prisoners of our own conscience?

Look at the rot that is accumulating in the milieu
None wants to address the soaring undeserved filth
Looks like pollution has reigned its tentacles on us
Seen in the way we even handle our WCs
Our sewers are blocked and clogged due to abuse
They are leaking and an eyesore that need nipping
Yet taking the maiden step so hard to address this

The lumber who blotted the landscape failed to replant
The vicinity looks robbed of its magnificence and valor
No longer that striking and beautiful scenery
Yet we are thinking of making this world a better place
How will we stand and be counted in making a difference
By having the audacity to tackle the vices head on
For the benefits of destruction don’t outweigh conservation

We deafen our ears and blind our eyes to the reality
Each day we dispose waste at our disposal haphazardly
While travelling, walking or within the places we stay
But who is willing to take the bold step and be counted
To address the failures that result in loss of welfare
If we have the nerve to make the world a better place
Then a clean the world and heal it off massive waste
And the destruction of nature’s resources without care
Our folly is that we have perfected the art of laxity
Slowly contributing to the mundane and lackluster lifestyle
